Athénaïs de Béru, AmalGamay 2019
Varietals: Aligoté - Gamay
Region: Burgundy/Beaujolais - France
Athénaïs de Béru produces her wines at the family estate Château de Béru in the usually hyper traditional Chablis appellation. There definitely appears to be a lean in the unconventional direction with the wines bottled under her own name, they're not boring.
This wine is a particularly unconventional blend of the lesser known second white grape of Burgundy, Bourgogne Aligoté, and Gamay sourced just further south in the Beaujolais appellation.
Super fresh acidity levels, really light on the palate but with a really good tannic grip. The wine has a cranberry tutti-frutti character. Ultra crunchy and grippy.
No added sulphites.
