The one and only Wild Boy chardonnay. Always on by the glass at St. Eia it's an absolute classic to us. Perfectly treads the line between the old and the new, really generous ripe fruit and a detectable lick of oak, but without ever being too in your face or brash.

Au Bon Climat wines are always crafted with a nod to Burgundy, where the inimitable, and now sadly departed winemaker, or 'mind behind' as he preferred, Jim Clendenen cut his winemaking teeth. We were fortunate enough to meet and have dinner with Jim on a couple of occasions, a legendary winemaker, true party animal and absolute gentleman. At the time he had taken up penning political rap tunes primarily, it seemed, to embarrass his son Knox, whom this wine is named after. They sounded quite good to me after a few gallons of wine.

Generous and supremely balanced classic Cali Chardonnay
